New Information Changed The Project In East Amherst, NY

Challenge

A woman contacted TBF of WNY in July of 2020, she wanted to finish her basement to make it into a rec room that she and her family could enjoy. She let us know that her basement had no water issues and was just a standard basement.  When our Design Specialist Todd met with her in her home he found that there was water damage by the sump pump that would create more problems with the basement if it was finished before they were taken care of. At the appointment, she then admitted that they had been having trouble with the sump pump and the basement had been getting water into it over the previous year but hadn't flooded extensively so she didn't think to mention it before.

Solution

This is a perfect example of why we do in-person appointments instead of giving a quote over the phone or doing a virtual appointment. There are just so many things that can be overlooked if our Design Specialists aren't there to see them in person.

Our Design Specialist Todd recommended that we install a new sump pump for the homeowner along with the basement finishing. She chose to have us do the sump pump for her, and to have us stabilize the current crock in the ground for her (since it was in good condition), then just to finish the floors and the ceiling. She also had us install a new SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the basement air dry too. We were happy to work with her on this project and we hope that her basement is nice and dry for her now!
