Reworking A Water Damaged Basement In Batavia, NY

Challenge

In the summer of 2020, a couple contacted TBF of WNY for help with their basement. They previously had a beautifully finished basement, but it had been done with drywall and when they had pipes in the basement leak the drywall was badly damaged. They wanted to take all of the damaged walls off and either repair or replace them.

At Total Basement Finishing of WNY, we don't use drywall in basements. It absorbs humidity and moisture which can create mold, mildew, and soft spots on the walls.

Solution

Our Design Specialist Todd met with the couple and explained the downside of replacing their damaged basement drywall with more drywall. They thought it over for a few weeks then met with Todd again and agreed that they would have our EverLast Wall Panels installed in their basement. These walls are an investment that will serve them for years to come.  After waiting a few months for financing, permits, and supplies our Installation Crew painted their ceiling, installed the new EverLast Wall Panels, and new Thermal Dry Elite Plank Floors and new doors. Now their basement is glowing and will be water-resistant for years to come.
