Customer had an unfinished basement that they wanted to turn into a home office. They were interested in our vast flooring options within the ThermalDry line. So, we went in and added wall panels, ThermalDry planks, and a new ceiling. The customer really enjoys their new space which they now can feel more productive and comfortable in. 

Homeowners in Rochester reached out to us to install a new egress window and add a bathroom. Our team went in and did a beautiful job transforming this couples space! New white walls matched with a deep wood flooring, egress window, painted ceiling, and recessed lighting. From Basement to Beautiful! Here are some before pictures of the space. A couple in Rochester, NY called us to find out about remodeling in the summer of 2019. They had a normal basement, no water issues or anything of concern; they just wanted to refresh their space. When our Design Specialist Paul looked at the basement he saw that the couple was right; there were no issues of concern in the basement -- except for a lot of outdated wood paneling. He worked with the couple to design a better and updated space for them to use for many years to come.

The couple wanted to keep a lot of the space unfinished for storage, and just have about a quarter of their basement space redone for regular use. We started work in December 2019, and we installed our EverLast wall systems to create a seperate finished space away from their storage areas. We painted the ceiling, added lights, and installed our Mill Creek Flooring in Oak to create a finished look for their new space. And their remodel only took a few weeks to finish, which let them have their space ready to ring in 2020.

We hope that the couple is very happy with their refinished space and that they can enjoy many happy moments in it.

A couple in Webster, NY had been using their basement as a home office, and wanted to have a clean and comfortable space to work in.  They contacted Total Basement Finishing of WNY to help them make their basement beautiful.

Our Design Specialist met with the couple and assessed the basement.  The couple wanted to get rid of the carpeting and put in a new floor, install a half wall for privacy, and get rid of the current drop ceiling.  These were easily done by TBF of WNY, we removed the carpet from the floors and stairs and installed a beautiful new Mill Creek Floor, demolished the drop ceiling, modified the duct work to better heat the basement, and installed new lighting.  We also reworked the stairwell so it could be painted to match the basement, providing a clean and cohesive look.

In 2019, TBF of WNY was approached by a family from Fairport, NY about refinishing their basement, their life was outgrowing their current basement as their family grew. They wanted a designated play area, a home gym, and seperate laundry and storage areas; and their current basement which was configured as one large space.

Our Design Specialist Paul met with the family and while he was measuring the basement he found water damage from leaks.  Waterproofing went on the "to-do" list for this project, along with moving some of the ducts to let some of the spaces have drop ceilings added to them.

The family wanted to paint their walls, so they chose a special part of the EverLast Wall Systems that are paintable. These are just as durable as all of the other EverLast Walls, but they are not necessarily as easy to clean as paint changes everything.  These walls gave the family their seperate areas that they needed to let their basement fit all of their needs.

A homeowner in Rochester, NY approached TBF of WNY for help creating a new living area in her basement. She was only using her basement as a laundry space and she wanted a whole new room that she could enjoy.

Our EverLast Wall Panels and ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring created a clean new space, and recessed lighting brightened it up and made it a fantastic place to spend time in. Because this project was planned after May 2020, New York State mandated that an Egress Window be installed. This is a great New York State building code though, because it helps keep anyone in the basement safe in case of an emergency.

In the summer of 2020, a couple contacted Total Basement Finishing of WNY because they were thinking about remodeling their basement. They weren't too sure what they wanted to do with their full basement yet, but they knew that they were ready to start planning ahead for what they could do in the future. 

Our Design Specialist Piercen Hicks met with the couple, and after talking with them found that they weren't ready to finish the whole basement yet. They had a lot of ideas and weren't sure what they really wanted to do yet. Making a separate bedroom and gym area, just finishing the exterior walls, and leaving the space open were the top ideas, along with creating separate storage space. The couple wasn't sure what their perfect finished basement looked like for them yet, but they knew that they would need an egress window in it no matter what for safety in the future.  

They chose to hold on to a full basement finishing project for now and to have Total Basement Finishing of WNY install an egress window for them this year.  The couple decided on a Bowman Kemp egress window system which includes the window well, an escape ladder, well cap, and the escape window. They had some amazing bushes in front of the perfect place for the egress window system to go into and agreed to remove these before the installation started. 

The project was originally anticipated to be done in the fall of 2020, and everything was installed in October of 2020. We hope that the new egress window is providing the couple with a lot of light and safety; and that when they are ready to move forward with finishing their basement that they will call on us at Total Basement Finishing to do the work for them. 

In the summer of 2020, a couple in Rochester, NY contacted Total Basement Finishing of WNY because they wanted help making a new family room in their home. After half a year of homeschooling, they wanted a space for their children to be able to go and play away from their kitchen and living room.  They met with one of our Design Specialists and planned a comfortable space that their kids would really be able to enjoy.

After waiting for the construction permits to go through we installed an egress window for the family, which would let the kids go outright to the backyard if there was an emergency. Then our Installation Crew created a room in the basement away from the laundry and sump pump and installed our EverLast Wall Panels, a new linen drop ceiling, and our Thermal Dry Elite Plan Flooring in an oak finish.

We hope that the kids love their new space and that the whole family is enjoying this addition to their home.
