Installing Egress Windows In Buffalo, NY
Challenge
A father and son from Buffalo, NY called Total Basement Finishing of WNY as they were interested in turning a basement into a living area. They had framed out large sections of the basement into the rooms that they wanted, and thought that they needed more help with the project. When meeting with our Design Specialist Paul, they found out that they would need to put in at least one egress window due to the New York State building code. This was more than they had planned on for a renovation.
Solution
Our Design Specialist Paul worked with the family to identify what they would need to do first to bring their basement up to code to be a living space. He worked with them to plan out a multiple step renovation, putting in egress windows first so that each room that they were planning to put in would be on point with the New York State building code for egress windows. Then Paul worked up a plan with them for future renovations to seperate the basement into multiple rooms; which we will be ready to help them install when the family is ready for the work.
