Needed An Egress Window In Avon, NY
Challenge
A homeowner in Avon, NY contacted Total Basement Finishing with a special project in mind. They wanted to make a large glass block window in their basement into an egress window. They had a design in mind where they (the homeowners) would build brick steps on the inside of the basement that would lead up to the window and they wanted TBF of WNY to install a window large enough to use as an "escape window" without adding an egress window well on the outside of the home.
The homeowner also wanted to reroute the sewage pipes on the inside of their basement to the other side of the basement so they could use this window safely.
Solution
Our Design Consultant met with the homeowner and heard their plans. They talked over egress window designs that would be safe and functional in the basement; but all of these involved putting in a window well; which the homeowner didn't want to do.
TBF of WNY talked over moving the pipes with a plumber and found that it would be a much larger project than the homeowner thought that it would be, and it wouldn't meet with their budget at this time.
We left design options with the homeowner and hope that they will contact TBF of WNY when they are ready to have an egress window with the egress window well installed so they will have a safer basement.
