Challenge

A couple contacted Total Basement Finishing of WNY in the summer of 2019 for help with their basement. They had finished and painted the walls a few years prior to contacting us, but the basement still didn't feel right to them. It looked okay but wasn't quite right.

Our Design Specialist Paul met with the couple and checked out their basement. They had been using it as a family/playroom and he immediatly saw why it wasn't quite right for them. Though the couple had finished the walls the floors and ceilings were still bare cement.

Solution

Our Design Specialist Paul worked with the couple to make their family room much more cozy. New MillCreek flooring made the floors look better, and added a layer of insulation that made the basement warmer. The ceiling height in the basement varried with pipes and the house's set up. Both painting the ceiling in certian areas, and installing a linen drop ceiling in others made the basement look much more finished. And for true comfort, the couple decided to add a half bath with a toilet and a pedestal sink in the basement. This is a great investment as it not only adds comfort to the basement, it also increases the value of the home.
